Where'd You Wanna Go?

"They called me 'Rebel' to my face. They said I'd be dead within a week if I left."

In part, Ki was talking about what the doctors said during her four months' stay in Eitanim, where she was detained / locked up in 2003 when she was 14. Eitanim is an Israeli psych treatment facility and court pre-trial detention center whose Managers were fired a few years later on, and whose Director was convicted and put into prison for abusing patients.

She bought her first SLR Canon digicam on eBay and brought it to Evergreen. It is a Rebel XSi. Mine is the 2016 version, also a Rebel.

Recalls the rock hit by David Bowie, written in 1974:

"You've got your mother in a whirl,
She's not sure if you're a boy or a girl...
So what you wanna know, Calamity's Child,
Where'd you wanna go?
What can I do for you?
Looks like you've been there too
'Cause you've torn your dress,
You're a juvenile success,
They put you down,
They say I'm wrong,
You tacky thing, you put them on:
Rebel Rebel you've torn your dress
Rebel Rebel you're a juvenile success
Rebel Rebel how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so ! ! !"

Bowie also died: malignant liver cancer, a little more than a year ago.

My points are much more than just the names of a rock song and a Chinese camera. Both David and Ki kept working steadily, right up to their last moments: Ki --- while terminally ill --- giving permission for another artist to tour one of her photos of Becky to college campuses one day before she left us, and Bowie --- while also terminally ill --- writing / co-producing his musical Lazarus, based on the Christian legend of Lazarus who had died and then was raised up from the dead. A hit in New York. Bowie left us while his show was still running.

What can I do for you? Looks like you've been there too...
